Loden is an eco-responsible and ethical alternative. It is certified «mulesing free»
guaranteeing the well-being of the animal because the sheep does not undergo
mutilation.
Originally, loden is a waterproof wool fabric typical of the Alps, used since the Middle
Ages for making coats. It was democratized at the end of the 19th century by Emperor
François-Joseph, who loved to wear this elegant fabric, which was then prized by the
nobility.
Initially grey, it becomes navy blue and khaki, the most common colour currently.
